Well, this looks a bit different, doesn’t it?

Storytime. A couple of months ago, while working on last Friday’s page, I decided to look up some reference pictures to help me draw better. I found a few pictures that left me with an intense jealousy towards all those artists out there who can, y’know, draw. So I spent the next week completely reinventing my artwork, trying to make it look better. Here’s what I accomplished:
-Thinner lineart. When the comic started, I was drawing with a 10px brush. After the Raleigh Acorn arc, I switched to 5px. Now, I’m drawing with 3px.
-Colored lineart. I actually tried to do this almost a year ago, but I couldn’t make it look right. Now I have.
-Elizabeth’s fur texture. I’ve already been using this for Raoul and Max, but now I’m figuring out how to do it for the non-canine characters as well.
-Ear and eye details. Better than all those flat circles I kept using, right?

Fun fact: one of Max’s nicknames is “Maximus Trouble.” Why? So that I can say that “trouble is his middle name.” XD

All jokes aside, I can attest that Max has done this before. Though more of the “tear things up and spread it around the house” and less of the “roll around in something that smells different”. ;P
