Page #6: “I swear, it was a Pokémon!” (City Visit)
Of all the things she could have suggested, why a giant tuna? …That may or may not have something to do with me replaying Paper Mario for the N64 at the time of writing the script.

A bit of art history for this page…Panel 5 was originally written very differently. Dook’s line was different, and he was going to be more annoyed-looking than anything else. The original script for it looked something like this:
P5: Dook appears to the left of Chessie. Chessie starts pondering.
Dook: “Are we done, then?”
When I started drawing the comic…I don’t know what came over me or why, but I drew Chessie and Dook with the expressions you see in Panel 5. And when I was done and I reread the script, I realized those expressions wouldn’t fit the dialogue. But I couldn’t bring myself to not use that drawing. So I went over Kelly’s helmet and changed Dook’s line instead.
